Joy Fountain and Blooming Roses

The Joy Fountain
Ricoh AF-5

The Joy Fountain is so much fun.
When I don't have my camera in my hand, I go and play with the water that comes out of the frogs mouths and have water battles with the other kids that have the same idea.

The Joy Fountain looking down towards the entrance.

Another view of the Joy Fountain.

Looking over at the Sound Shell.

Roses In Bloom at the Lady Norwood Rose Gardens
Ricoh AF-5

When we walked into the rose gardens we were hit with the beautiful perfume from the roses.
It was so strong!!!
Unfortunately I ran out of film and I really wanted to take more photos as there were heaps of ducks and pigeons lazing around the roses.
I will being going up there again real soon to take more photos!!!!

An arty shot from below the roses.
I was sitting down to take this.

The roses were in bloom everywhere.

Smelling the roses.
An end of film shot.

Ducks and Birds Galore

Ducks and Birds Galore at the Duck Pond
Ricoh AF-5

When were arrived at the duck pond, all the ducks in the pond came over to see us.
A few got out of the pond and came to check me out to see if I had any food.
They were very curious about my camera.
Even the pigeons and sparrows came over to say hello.
They were all very friendly.
I'm sure a lot of the ducks were the ducklings that we had seen on our last visit but they have all grown up now.

The  ducks started to come over to me.

A pigeon came over to check me out.

The ducks were seeing if I had any food.

This pigeon was just strolling by.

This little ducky wants to know if my camera is food or not.

The curious boys.

Say cheese.

These two pigeons and two sparrows are great camera models.

Deep in the Forest then it's Off to the Duck Pond

Deep in the Forest for Fort Building
Ricoh AF-5

Not far from the playground at the Botanic Gardens, I have a favourite spot in the forest that I like to build forts out of bits that have fallen off the trees.
I don't think that any people, not even the gardeners get to this spot because the remains of the last fort that I made was still here, just!
I made it ages ago.
Mum came to find me, so I took photos of her while she took photos of me.
That was fun.

The remains of my fort.

The forest floor.

Another view of my ruined fort.

There's Mum taking a photo of me.

Some leaves got in my way as I was walking down to Mum.

Ooops, I pushed the button by mistake!!!!

Off to the Duck Pond
Ricoh AF-7

Then we walked down the forest tracks and made our way to the duck pond.
There is a lovely little track that crosses over a small stream.
You have to step on some stones to get over it.
And then to get to the pond, I always have to check out the big fungus that is growing on the tree at the side of the path.
It has been there for years and I think it is so cool!!!!
Then we get to the Gazebo by the pond.

The lovely little path down to the stream.

This is looking down the stream.

My favourite fungus!!!!!

Looking Up at the Trees and The Children's Playground

Looking Up at the Trees
Ricoh AF-5

I love looking up at the trees when we go to the Wellington Botanic Gardens.
This is up by the Cable Car Museum entrance of the gardens.
There was heaps of birds flying about, even lots of tuis.
I managed to get one in the second photo but it is near impossible to see as it is just a dark shape.
But I can see it!!!!

A lovely blue springtime sky.

Can you see the Tui?

The sun shining through the punga leaves.

Looking up through the forest canopy.

The Children's Playground at the Botanic Gardens
Ricoh AF-5

I love coming here to the playground especially when there isn't many other kids here during school-time.
I get to go on the flying fox as many times as I like.
I got to the end of my film and was able to get a few more photos from it and the last two came out very interesting.
I think they turned out really cool!!!!

An arty effect on the walk down to the playground.

Another arty end of film effect.

The Wellington Cable Car Museum and Cable Car

The Wellington Cable Car Museum
Ricoh AF-5

I thought a good place to start taking my photos was at the Cable Car Museum.
I love coming here.
I wish that the old cable cars were still in service.
The cable cars are really called grip cars.
The museum is in the original winding house.
The winding house was going to be demolished when they put in the new cable car system but instead restored it to become the museum.

A school girl dummy looking out

My mum remembers riding on this cable car

This cable car was used before the one that is in service now.

This is the seat inside.

This is the oldest of the two grip cars (cable cars) at the
museum

This is the side view.

The grip car has lovely woodwork.

The winding machine that used to haul up the cable cars.

The Famous Wellington Cable Car
Ricoh AF-5

Heaps of Wellingtonians use the cable car every day to get to work, home, the nearby university and of course loads of tourists get the cable car up from the city to have a look at the very cool view of Wellington city and also to then have a walk through the Wellington Botanic Gardens which is one of my most favourite places.
I love coming here!!!!

This is the view from the lookout at the top of the cable car.

Here is the cable car coming up the hill.

It's nearly at the top.

Everyone is about to get out.

This is part of the cable car station.

A very cool lamp and blue sky.

The doors are closing.

Going......

...going.....

....gone!!!!!
