My Chalk Art

Christmasy Chalk Art
Samsung Digimax V4

One of my favourite pastimes is getting out my bucket of chalks and doing some art on our fences at home.

This lot is all Christmas themed as you do at this time of year.

At the end of this post are two photos of my older artworks which have been rained on.

It's snowing.  I wish ........

This way to Christmas Land.

This is my Christmas corner, nice and shady under a tree.

A tree and presents.

More presents.

A naked Christmas tree.

This was a floating city.  Pity the rain has washed a lot
of it away.

I love the detail in these.

More From My Flight To Auckland

The Landscapes Below
Samsung Digimax V4

These are more photos from my flight to Auckland from Paraparaumu on the 3rd of December 2014.

These are landscapes from about half-way up the North Island of New Zealand, ending up at Auckland Airport.

I had a great flight with Air New Zealand.
The best!!!!

Looking very hazy over Whanganui

You can just see the mountain in the distance.

Getting closer to the mountain, Mt. Egmont, also known as Mt. Taranaki.

Flying over Taranaki along the west coast.

The sea looks so calm.

The west coast shoreline.

I love the rugged landscape, all the hills and forests.

More amazing landscapes.

Going further up the island.

Heading up to Auckland.

Seeing more and more signs of "civilization".

More built-up areas.  Can see more on the other side of the plane.

Here I am at Auckland Airport.

Flying Up To Auckland

Clouds
Samsung Digimax V4

On the 3rd of December, bright and early in the morning, I flew up to Auckland on an Air New Zealand flight from Paraparaumu Airport.

It was a beautiful sunny morning and there wasn't a breath of wind.  It really was a lovely flight up to Auckland.  My first time flying with Air New Zealand.  Definitely not the last.

This is the view of the clouds out of my window, flying over the bottom half of the North Island of New Zealand.

The clouds really do look like cotton wool.

Wow!!!!!!

I was intrigued my the engine and propellers.

Looks like you could go out and sleep in the clouds.

We are flying over the sea at the moment.

You can see the snow capped mountain in the distance.

I've Been Across The Road Again

Me Amongst the Wattles and Bamboo
Samsung Digimax V4

I love going across the road and seeing what young trees have popped up, especially the wattles.  For some reason I love wattles.

They grow quickly, like weeds, some would say, but I think they are great.  They also attract lots of birds when they are in flower and I like to grow them in pots at home.

A selfie with a wattle.

I love how the sun shines through the leaves.

This young wattle is way taller than me.

This wattle is growing through young bamboo shoots.

Across the Road, I'm Back Again

I can't believe it is two years since I last posted photos on here.
Time has really flown.  I really must get my act together and start posting all the photos that I have taken since my last post.  I've got a bit of a collection now.

At the moment I have been playing around with an old digital camera, from 2006 I think.  It is a Samsung Digimax V4.  It is 4.0 mega pixels with a 12x zoom.

I still much prefer my film cameras but I'm a bit low on cash to get any film developed, for now anyway.

Across the Road

I decided to grab my camera and go across the road from where Ilive.

There is quite a bit of rubbish hidden in the undergrowth.

But I didn't want to concentrate on that, this is better.

I love wattle trees!

I have taken quite a few photos on this expedition so I made a video with my photos, what you have seen above is just a taster.

You can also see it on You Tube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCn6najIcWs.

Joy Fountain and Blooming Roses

The Joy Fountain
Ricoh AF-5

The Joy Fountain is so much fun.
When I don't have my camera in my hand, I go and play with the water that comes out of the frogs mouths and have water battles with the other kids that have the same idea.

The Joy Fountain looking down towards the entrance.

Another view of the Joy Fountain.

Looking over at the Sound Shell.

Roses In Bloom at the Lady Norwood Rose Gardens
Ricoh AF-5

When we walked into the rose gardens we were hit with the beautiful perfume from the roses.
It was so strong!!!
Unfortunately I ran out of film and I really wanted to take more photos as there were heaps of ducks and pigeons lazing around the roses.
I will being going up there again real soon to take more photos!!!!

An arty shot from below the roses.
I was sitting down to take this.

The roses were in bloom everywhere.

Smelling the roses.
An end of film shot.

Ducks and Birds Galore

Ducks and Birds Galore at the Duck Pond
Ricoh AF-5

When were arrived at the duck pond, all the ducks in the pond came over to see us.
A few got out of the pond and came to check me out to see if I had any food.
They were very curious about my camera.
Even the pigeons and sparrows came over to say hello.
They were all very friendly.
I'm sure a lot of the ducks were the ducklings that we had seen on our last visit but they have all grown up now.

The  ducks started to come over to me.

A pigeon came over to check me out.

The ducks were seeing if I had any food.

This pigeon was just strolling by.

This little ducky wants to know if my camera is food or not.

The curious boys.

Say cheese.

These two pigeons and two sparrows are great camera models.
